Prof. Dr. Coşkun ERÜZ Presents on Marine Litter and Ghost Nets Impact at Blue Gates Workshop

On 14 May 2025, Prof. Dr. Coşkun ERÜZ, a faculty member of our department, delivered a presentation on the impact of marine litter, ghost nets, and abandoned, lost, or otherwise discarded fishing gear (ALDFG) on the Black Sea ecosystem during the Black Sea Blue Economy and Blue Future workshop. The event, organized under the Blue Gates Project, brought together experts and stakeholders to discuss sustainable development and environmental challenges facing the Black Sea region. Prof. Erüz’s insights emphasized the urgent need for coordinated action to combat marine pollution and safeguard the biodiversity and economic potential of the Black Sea.
