Our Department Closes 2025 by Educating Kindergarteners to Safeguard Black Sea Ecosystem

On 31 December 2025, our department members spent the final days of the year visiting a local kindergarten to inspire a new generation of "marine protectors".
This educational initiative is not a standalone event but a strategic integration of severaş major research frameworks. The visit was conducted under the umbrella of the BlackNETs and BIOBLACK projects, which focus on monitoring Black Sea ghost nets and preserving biodiversity in the region. In addition, the program demonstrated the sustainable use of educational resources by reusing and adapting educational materials originally produced for the accomplished LitOUTer project. We ensure that the legacy of previous conservation efforts continues to impact the community by repurposing these visuals and interactive tools.
Joined the education visit: Prof.Dr. Fatma TELLİ KARAKOÇ, Prof.Dr. Coşkun ERÜZ, Prof.Dr. Hacer SAĞLAM, and Assoc.Prof.Dr. Rafet Çağrı ÖZTÜRK.
